how to inscanned size in xsane

I have ubuntu 8.10 with Epson v100 printer when I run xsane the first window opens and the scanned size in the bottom
rectangle is 2.86xxx3.37 cms. which is too small. How do I increase this to scan the full size .

I have solved my problem by clicking on Windows/Advanced options/Quick format. and setting it to A4. sorry for the trouble to any one J.J.
