Nvidia, got tv display to work, but it is cropped, how do I fix.

Asked by James Owens

Basically, here is my problem, I have finally gotten my display to work on my tv, but the image is cropped on all sides. Basically with firefox open and maximized my toolbar starts with "Edit", File is completely cut off. Also the Ubuntu tool bars on the top and bottom are completely cropped off. I am sick of having a monitor connected and setting in the middle of my living room floor while I deal with this. I have tried all of the settings on my Plasma tv to no avail. I am connected to it via S-Video. I don't know what else to tell you.

if your tv is like mine you can change the view settings , on the tv itself .

I tried all the different settings options to no avail. There simply isn't anything on the TV to fix this problem.

run nvidia-settings, under GPU 0 you will see a list of recognized screens, including your TV. Open that page. You simply will have to change the value of Overscan Compensation slider.

Can you help with this problem?
