If there is a bug, state on it that you are affected. You dont need a question as well as a bug report

There is a bug and it is claimed that the newer version 1.19 of xwayland fixes it

Ubuntu has yet to compile version 1.19 which was released on 2016-11-15
https://lists.x.org/archives/xorg-announce/2016-November/002737.html
There is even a 1.19.1

This question is a request for the newer version of xwayland package to be made available for Ubuntu

this bug: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=776639 and the other Ubuntu bug 1650629 linked.

If you compile this thing, I will test it for you before you put it in 16.10 backports or 17.04

The alternative is that I spend three hours on patching the four commits and produce a rouge package from source

Bug 1650629 needs more information that the developers understand the background.
All the information like reference to https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=776639 and the hint that xorg 1.19.1 solves the problem should go into the bug report!

RE: "Are you compiling yet?"

Whom are you asking?
We are not the developers. Contact to the developers is via the bug tracker, not through question documents.

Can you help with this problem?

Provide an answer of your own, or ask Richard for more information if necessary.
