X Org Crashes and logs out the session

Asked by CuteChaps

I am using Ubuntu 12.04 on Thinkpad T410, I usually suspend my latop and resume it when ever needed. Sometimes X crashes and session logs out unexpectedly, with the following error

Not sure whether is this a bug which is already reported .....

I moved the question to the right section, but it would be a good idea to report this as a bug, and link the bug report to the question. If the bug is already known, the developers will tell you.

This happened to me the other day (twice), and it happened both times when on Skype and the other person turned on their webcam.

Just as a Note: I have also a T410 (VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation GT218 [NVS 3100M] (rev a2)) and experience this problem with nvidia and nouveau driver. I am running Gentoo btw, and the newest stable kernel (3.5.3) and nvidia drivers (304.43).

Most of the time it happens when I use Firefox (which has OpenGL abilities as far as I know). Never had problems with skype (hadrly use it).

Ah, and I am not sure whether it was the SAME problem with the nouveau drivers. I have no clue, how to replroduce it. happens after around 24 hours working with several suspends to disk and ram.

regards
Robin
