For how long will the wordpress package in Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy receive security updates?

According to the download page for Hardy... (http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download)

"The "LTS" version of Ubuntu receives long-term support. 3 years for desktop versions and 5 years for server versions."

This would mean that there'll be updates until April 2011 for the desktop and April 2013 for the server.

However, wordpress comes from the "Universe", i.e. the community, rather than the "main" repository so that guarantee does not hold.
As a community effort, I don't know how you will get a guarantee.

it would be in your best interest to monitor security updates and get them "straight from the horses mouth" rather than to wait for repo updates which may or may not happen.
