The MD5 is correct.

You can find the Original - Official MD5SUMS here :
http://releases.ubuntu.com/precise/MD5SUMS

You can compare the result with the equivelant .iso version ..

e.g

your result is

\*\generator Msftedit 5.41.15.1515;}\viewkind4\uc1\pard\f0\fs20 e235b63c02644e219b7bf3668f479c9e\par

for the ubuntu-12.04.1-desktop-i386.iso

and the Official MD5SUM is
e235b63c02644e219b7bf3668f479c9e *ubuntu-12.04.1-desktop-i386.iso

So you are OK.

Thank you for getting the results for me. I guess what I should do is burn it to a DVD then to get it to run.
