Using wine in ubuntu
I have installed Ubuntu 10.10 in a fresh 8GB partition on my hard drive. I am very impressed with performance and speed of Firefox and Evolution Mail, so much so that I would like to do away with Windows Vista altogether.
To do this, there are certain Windows programs that I must have, namely Photoshop 7 and Internet Explorer. (I need IE to do online web pages).
I found out that I needed to install WINE, which I have done, but when I go to the WINE configuration utility under the DRIVES tab, it does not see my CD-ROM.
I have gone through the procedure to correct this but to no avail. When I put an installation CD into the drive, It does not appear on the list.
Any ideas please?
Also when I want to install IE how do I do this?
Thanks in advance.
John
