Webkitgtk stable release 2.30 update in ubuntu

webkit2gtk version 2.30.0-1 is already in groovy-proposed. So it probably will be part of Ubuntu 20.10.

And for older Ubuntu releases see FAQ #3037: “no rolling release”.

Hi thanks for the reply.Since webkitgtk is widely used and previously it was backported ,(last stable release as well),are there no plans to backport

If it is backported to 20.04 and 18.04 ,it would be more helpful

Why do you need that version of webkitgtk in focal?
What is the benefit of updating it in focal?

The latest version of webkitgtk has many fixes https://webkitgtk.org/2020/09/11/webkitgtk2.30.0-released.html , compared to older stable version. Also since 20.10 is not released yet to move,it would be helpful if it is backported to 20.04

If there are important bug fixes between 2.28.4 (in Ubuntu 20.04) and 2.30, then please create a bug report requestiong to fix the bugs. Use the SRU template from the link in the FAQ document provided above and provide all required supporting Information.

Sorry I didn't get it,you mean the bugs which has been fixed in 2.30 webkitgtk which I am looking for?

That means only those bugs will be fixed in 20.04?

What is the difference between version 2.28.4 and 2.30 besides bug fixes?

Mainly bug fixes ,since it is stable release it might include security fixes as well
