VLC now crashes after upgrading to Jaunty

Ive noticed that VLC as well as other movie players simply close after @10 minutes of play. Is this a Jaunty issue?? Ive tried Mplayer, Totem, and others with the same result....

sudo apt-get --purge remove vlc*; sudo apt-get --purge autoremove; sudo apt-get clean; sudo apt-get install vlc
