How to install vlc in Ubuntu 8.10

Hi Guys

          I have just started using ubuntu 8.10. I want to install vlc media player.How do I do it?

open terminal from Applications->Accessories & paste this link

1)sudo wget http://www.medibuntu.org/sources.list.d/intrepid.list --output-document=/etc/apt/sources.list.d/medibuntu.list

Then, add the GPG Key: (in terminal itself)

2)sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install medibuntu-keyring && sudo apt-get update

After you finish the above go to System->Administration->Synaptic Package Manager.

There just search for vlc media player & click on the box on the left of it.Then click on the apply changes button at the top.
