playing dvd

I have 7.10 installed but now it is impossible to install any player after the removal of totum.

i get the following response:

De volgende pakketten hebben niet-voldane vereisten:
  vlc: Vereisten: vlc-nox (= 0.8.6.release.c-0ubuntu5.1) maar het zal niet geïnstalleerd worden
       Vereisten: ttf-dejavu maar het is niet installeerbaar

In synaptics it is not possible to install either

Have you already tried to play your DVD with vlc...?

Please open a Terminal from the menu Applications->Accessories->Terminal and type:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get install vlc

give your user password when requested, you don't see nothing when you type it, then press enter.

When you say all suggested packages, what did that include? Specifically, did it include libdvdcss2? See https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Medibuntu.
