DVD Play back 12.04

For some reason my system wont play any type of dvd i tryed vlc movie player xbmc and for some reason it wont play any ideas thanks luke

Installing loads of media players won't do anything, you haven't nstalled the DVD decoder so ANY player you add will not be able to play DVD.

Shows the 2 commands you need, then any player will play DVD

Ubuntu 12.04
libdvdread4 installed.

movie player. "could not read DVD- encrypted- decryption library not installed.

VLC with NO DISC MENUS: DVD could not be read-1/4 blocks@0x01

The PC plays same DVDs with VLC running Win XP- so DVD ROM not problem. No extra decryption needed for VLC on XP:

Any ideas??
