How to reduce Color depth?

Vinagre should support reduced color depth in lucid now, since bug 203782 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/vinagre/+bug/203782) is fixed now. But i cannot find a way to reduce the color depth, the manpage does not help and I can't find a gconf-entry too.

So how can I reduce the color depth when using vinagre?
