whe i start my pc (ubuntu 13) i am unable to mount my windows 8 drive files

It is a partition, not a drive.

What is the output of:

sudo fdisk -l; lsb_release -a; uname -a

Windows 8 by default are not shutdown properly. They are hibernated instead.

When a partition is in hibernated mode, then cannot be mounted.
