"not enough disk space" error but appear to have loads of space available
I have Ubuntu 12.04 on an Asus laptop sharing space with Windows. When I installed Ubuntu I'm not sure how much I chose to partition for it but pretty sure I alotted lots of disk space as Windows goes straight to blue screen and can only be used in safe mode (so, needless to say, I don't have much need for it). When downloading torrents with Transmission, they will stop part way through and give an error message about "not enough disk space" and stop downloading. I can usually get them going again by deleting other movies that I no longer want, but I don't understand why there is so little disk space available (this computer is one year old and appears to have many hundreds of gb of disk space, and I have very little downloaded and installed). I have downloaded gparted and have run some command in terminal to check disk space but don't understand what they mean. I took screenshots showing data from both but don't know how to add them here. So, gparted shows 4 file systems--fat32, ntfs, extended, and another ntfs. They are sized, respectively, 25gb, 197.55gb, 243.21gb, and 243.21gb again. Space used, respectively, is 11.55gb, 151.98gb, ---, and 3.00gb. Unused is 13.45gb, 45.57gb, ---, and 240.21gb. So, you can see that, regardless of which file system represents Ubuntu and which represents Windows I should not be having problems downloading 1gb movies. I'd like to know how to solve this problem of "not enough disk space". Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks.
