can my external ntfs hard drives become corrupted with use of ubuntu on a daily basis
Asked by
Chris
I am new to linux and ubuntu.
And currently im dual booting ubuntu and win 7 from 2 seperate internal hard drives. I like it so far however a thought crept up on me.
If i use my external hard drives that are ntfs, is there a risk that they can be corrupted or become unsuable since ubuntu uses a different file archiving system. I do know the hard drives are still mounted but i just wanted to verify because the hard drives contain in valuable material.
Also if no harm can come to them while using ubuntu. Can i write to them as well, say having utorrent downloading a file onto them?
thanks again!
