Only DOS uses backslash ("\") to delimit directories, while Linux uses the forward slash ("/"). So there is no C: or D: partition in your computer, but just a partition with a name. For open it press ALT + F2 and execute nautilus. Then you will see your partition on the sidebar.

go into windoze and give your partitions a name that you recognize (e.g. c drive, d drive, etc) and go back into nautilius in ubuntu. in the filemanager, look for the names you gave your partitions (e.g. c drive, d drive, etc). these are your windoze partitions

as enrico said, linux do not use the name convention that windoze does, so you will not see c:, d:, etc.
