ubuntu doesn't work with ipod

     Have you installed ipod libraries from the package manager? I have an ipod nano, latest that I know of, and it recognizes that. With the Nano, it doesn't offer as much support as with older models, and in fact it only uses it at all because I chose to set it up as disk in Windows (necessary anyway to read videos in that I made WITH the Nano). I think you can get full support for a Classic, but have to install the library for it at least. Try at least installing "libgpod4" and "libgpod-common" - anything else they say they require.

I'd use a windows system to check the device. The disk doesn't sound healthy (or the lead you are using is bad)

Thanks for advice. I've checked the disk with windows default disk-chck utility. It said, that everything is Ok.
