How to install on other distributions?

Asked by Sean Estabrooks

It's frustrating to have downloaded the ubuntu ISO only to find out there isn't an easy way to create a bootable USB disk. Apparently I must already be using Ubuntu, Windows or Mac. I tried downloading the source for usb-creator and installing it that way on my Fedora machine, but no joy. It seems like a large mistake to make it difficult for people using other distributions to try out Ubuntu. Did I miss a trick? Thanks...

To have the Ubuntu Live cd on a bootable usb pen, ready to install, please try unetbootin http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/
