What GPU do you use?
Does the system have a make and model?

Like a Dell Latitude D420 is a make and model of a laptop. Does your system have a model or is it a home build?

Can you give the output of:

sudo lshw -C display; lsb_release -a; uname -a; dpkg -l | grep nvidia

Thanks

Ok, try:

sudo nvidia-xconfig

Then reboot, if you get no desktop then reboot and hold SHIFT then select recovery mode, then select root. You can now run:

sudo rm /etc/X11/xorg.conf; reboot

note the X in X11 is captiatlized.

It does not work either. Is not there a way to do that?

Can you help with this problem?
