Update Manager Sends Wrong Security updates

Update Manager in Karmic sends security updates that are not relevant to my Karmic configuration and language. This clogs up the Update Manager window with junk. Also, it sends updates for versions of Ubuntu that are earlier than the one installed and therefore are not relevant.

I would like to know how to get Security updates for Ubuntu 9.1.0 (Karmic) only. I would like to filter all of the updates that Update Manager selects and sends to me.

I would also like to have Update Manager's list of dependences for each software installed on my system.

How do you know which updates are relevant or irrelevant, language packages updates are not only for the language you use on your system.
If you are filtering updates yourself, you break to most important service canon. provides: security and software updates,
and in the end break your system.

you could set them on "automatic" download, afaik.

This is found in synaptic packagemanager.

Is your sources.list Karmic only, you could post your list here, to take a look at it?
