Ubuntu 8.10 Update Problem

Asked by daved

When I left for work this morning I noticed there was an update so I started it. Then after it collected 8 updates to download it asked for my edubuntu 8.10 release cd, I haven't made one yet and don't have the education add ons on the computer. So, it stumped me when it asked for this. I tried canceling the request for the cd but it just canceled the update. I tried twice. Why is it asking for this disk and what should I do to get the updates? Hopefully this is enough info. Thanks for any help! Dave
P.S.
This is my first time using or working with Linux,
I just put it on my sys. Wed. this week.
Dual boot.

try going to system -> administration -> software sources and unchecking the cdrom software source so that it fetches all its packages from the internet rather than a cd
