What could be the command prompt to stop an upgrade that is already running?

I will like to stop the upgrade command for Ubuntu 11.10 that I have launched (in terminal) because I have low internet connection but i don't know how to go about that.

You can either close the Terminal window by clicking the (X) button or by pressing CTRL + Z or CTRL + C to stop the process. Although it might cause some error in the future, it is easy fixed by running again 'sudo apt-get update' or 'sudo apt-get -f install'.
