After migrating to 11.10 update manager indicates no internet connection

upgraded from Ubuntu 11.04 to Ubuntu 11.10. and it is fine. But when ever i start Update Manager, it is giving me this error

W:Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/pidgin-deve...source/Sources 404 Not Found
, W:Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/pidgin-deve...-i386/Packages 404 Not Found

The network connection is however active.

The PPA doesn't support Oneiric, I suggest you remove it
