Upgrade to Ubuntu 11.10 failure

Asked by Joshua Mackail-Johnstone

i tried upgrading to ubuntu 11.10, which was released today. However, when i try to upgrade it, it says the following;

'This usually is caused by a system were /tmp is mounted noexec. Please remount without noexec and run the upgrade again.'

How can i fix this?

I'm on ubuntu 11.04, and tried to upgrade ubuntu by pressing Alt+F2 and typing in update-manager-d.

Ubuntu 11.10 isn't released yet. Here is a countdown of when it will be released:

You can upgrade the system with Update Manager or you can download the .iso and reinstall it again (I suggest this) because the upgrade isn't secure at all.
