Asked by Roger R Hammel

I have one computer with Ubuntu 10.04 LTS on it with online access and would like to update my other computer with Ubuntu 10.04 LTS on it that doesn't have online access. Is there away to download and burn the updates to a CD to be installed

Hi,

You can install and use aptoncd from the Ubuntu Software Center

All packages are downloaded to /var/cache/apt/archives/

Aptoncd will scan these files and help you to make your own repository on a CD/DVD. It will create an iso file that you can use as such (to mount it directly, economizing the cost of burning one CD) or to burn a CD which can be added to your software sources.

It is quite easy to use.

Hope that helps.
