no network connections in ubuntu netbook remix

Asked by xander

alright so i just installed ubuntu 9.04 netbook remix, and when i go up to network connections, there is none. it just says no network devices available. i know my routers working fine, because im posting this from my friends macbook. i have networking enabled, and i obviously cant edit any connections because it cant find any, no matter where i go. if i need to edit and make a new one, then tell me how. but i know it should at least show me nearby routers.

HELP I HATE THAT THIS ISNT WORKING RIGHT. IM ABOUT TO GIVE UP

Please read this http://forum.eeeuser.com/viewtopic.php?pid=607368

"This solved the problem for me and i have a 1005HA. Download the .deb file off of this site:
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/jaunty/i38 … 6.28-11.11 (the 1.2 MB one)
then put it on your eeepc with a flash drive and double click it. it should open up the package manager. follow it's instructions to install the package, then reboot."

Hope this helps
