Hi, very basic question here.

Do you pick up last versions automatically, or should we ping you? Asking since we just released a new version.

I suggest you report a bug. If the bug and security fixes are significant then the package will be updated sooner rather than later.
Ubuntu is not a rolling release distribution so packages are not updated just because a new version is out.
