Error messages on startup 13.10

What does this error message mean?

Flash kernel: [ 68.716075] [drm:intel_pipe_config_compare] *ERROR* mismatch in adjusted_mode.flags (expected 2, found 0)

I get this message everytime I boot up.

Looks like a serious kernel bug.

I suggest trying a newer or older kernel version to try to avoid the bug.

If you cannot access the desktop, then you could boot from a LiveCD or LiveUSB session, then chroot - during the LiveCD session - into the affected root partition, and then apt-get upgrade the kernel...

It is a lot like bug #1211976 except that is 32 bit and I run the 64 bit version.

I assume the bug is present in both the 32 and 64 bit versions.

You might try installing the 3.11.4 or higher mainline kernel that according to freedesktop-bugs contains a related patch.
I guess the kernel version currently in saucy-propsed provides such version see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for instructions how to enable -proposed

The kernel updated to 3.11.0-13 and it fixed the problem. I no longer get the error messages.
