How do you set up Ubuntu Classic in Ubuntu 11.10 - not possible
I downgraded to Ubuntu 11.10 about 13 hours ago and have spent the time in between rebuilding my system so it was usable. I'm sure there are some people out there who find the Widgets useful, but I find them a total waste of time as they take me several clicks to do what used to be only two clicks in my previous set up.
I always personalise my set up to use a colour setting that suits my eye and a set of menus that makes it damned easy to find what i want in the way of apps. I did NOT like having the system dump all the apps into one big widget pile that needed several clicks just to find anything. I tried to find how I could set up for the Ubuntu Classic set up, but failed to find it, maybe I think different to the designers.
Thus, I need a set of clear instructions on how I can set up the Ubuntu Classic Desktop appearance with Clearlooks and carry my personal settings across the change from 11.04 to 11.10, please. I need my menus and not a bunch of widgets or fancy 3D space wasters.

update - not solvable, but told it's not possible to do as Gnome 3 doesn't have the capability
