can't find file manager, dash, or launchpad

Hello. I have installed Ubuntu 11.04, although it said my hardware is not good enough for 'unity' so I am using classic. My problem is, when I go to' help' for answers to questions, it says things about .file manager,' 'dash' and 'launchpad' etc, and I can't find any of them. I have spent hours trawling through the system but to no avail. Is there a video somewhere which will help me through the early stages please, or can anyone tell me how to find things? Thankyou Brian PS, also how can I change the size of the text on web pages, as everything seems smaller than normal? I'm not sure how I got on this site to be honest!!

dash is not present in unity because with out unity it is a classic gnome session... file manager is nautilus that you to look at files and folder,,you can excess them from top pannel go to places and there you find filemanager options contains file and folder
and launchpad i didnt understand can you elaborate it more

Thankyou for the reply, but there is no 'file manager' or 'file manager options' in' places', or apps or systems. This is driving me batty! I am wanting to get my camcorder onto the system to edit video and burn to dvd. I also have a mobile phone which has pictures and video on it, but when I plug the phone into the USB, or the camcorder into the USB, nothing happens! I have been on the Ubuntu help pages, and it tells me certain things to access which I can't find because I'm running classic gnome. Do you have any Idea what I can do please? (apart from shutting down and retiring to the pub!) I cannot find anything on the internet that explains how to use this classic gnome. I installed Ubuntu 11.08, but it seems my PC is either too old or not qualified to run Unity. Thanks, Brian
