Unity offers no means of determining stickykey state

Asked by truant

Following an upgrade to Natty, I can no longer determine what state my stickykeys are in.

Previously this information was provided by the gnome-panel-applet called "AccessX Status" which displayed a row of icons which would show either latched or locked for each modifier key.

While stickykeys seems to work in that keys are latched/locked as one would expect, but Unity appears to have no such indicator mechanism, which renders the feature somewhat less useful.

I did file a bug during beta testing, but it seems to have been removed.

Your older bug was bug 751207. It was marked Invalid, which is why it doesn't appear in a regular search through your bugs (use advanced search and you'll find it, or just click the link here). I have marked bug 772796 a duplicate of that bug, and I have posted instructions in that bug (i.e., in bug 751207) about how to properly report this. I believe my instructions provide the information that you had requested in that bug after it had been marked Invalid, but which no one had provided.

Thanks Eliah, that was exactly the information I needed. Much appreciated.

Oh, some kind of auto-answer happened too. Thanks launchpad.
