Distro upgrade bug3

HI All,
1. lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 18.04.5 LTS
Release: 18.04

2.sudo apt-cache policy pkgname
[sudo] password for laci:
N: Unable to locate package pkgname

3. I expected a smart distro upgrade to 20.04

4.During the upgrade process (18.04 LTS to 20.04 LTS)

I got the following error message:

Could not calculate the upgrade

An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade.

 This was likely caused by:
 * Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu
Please use the tool 'ppa-purge' from the ppa-purge
package to remove software from a Launchpad PPA and
try the upgrade again.

If none of this applies, then please report this bug using the command 'ubuntu-bug ubuntu-release-upgrader-core' in a terminal. If you want to investigate this yourself the log files in '/var/log/dist-upgrade' will contain details about the upgrade. Specifically, look at 'main.log' and 'apt.log'

Regarding security the availability is under real threat.

Not a bug, but caused by local settings. Converting into a question.

Having installed software from foreign sources or PPAs will in some cases block the release upgrade process, because the Ubuntu upgrader cannot know about required peculiarities for upgrading these foreign packages.
You seem to be hitting such problem.

Your log clearly tells:

Solution:
Either uninstall all packages that were installed from a PPA (or other sources outside the official Ubuntu repositories), or downgrade these packages to the version in the standard Ubuntu repositories.

Execute the command
dpkg -l | grep '~bionic'
to see a (maybe incomplete) list of packages that were installed from PPAs
or install the package synaptic and execute the program synaptic to show installed packages by origin.

Based on the output in your bug report you have at least installed packages from ppa:ubuntugis/ppa and ppa:obsproject/obs-studio
