Ubuntu 12.10 alpha 1 unstable: i cannot change the interface language

Hi,

I have made a fresh install of Ubuntu 12.10 alpha version. I made the system installation in Spanish because I am living in Spain and using a Spanish keyboard, Spanish localizations, etc.

Once the installation done, I tried to switched to the English interface language. I went to System settings (i.e. configuracion del sistema...)/Languages and moved English to the first line. I then made a log off, log on, without any change. I made a reboot with no success either... The interface remain in Spanish even tough the English (UK) is the first choice in the System Settings.

Before, it was possible de choose the language in the login window, which I found quite logical...

Should I report a bug or am I missing something?

Bugreporting makes sense in this case.

You should also try to deinstall spain completely. May be this brings english up.

I solved the problem copy-pasting the content of ~/.pam_environment into /etc/default/locale and rebooting...

Before that, I had tried to create a test account with the English interface language and it was indeed in English at the first login.

To be noted that changing the interface language, the system propose to rename the default home folders, but the Music, Pictures and Videos folders in the original language are kept with their content while the three folders where created in English, but empty. I.e.:
ls gave
[...]
Imagenes (with files)
Pictures (empty)
Musica (with files)
Music (empty)
etc.
