I need to test my system if it works correctly, now it is working slow

Hello , I am new to ubuntu, and I need to test my system, when working in ubuntu I have the sensation that there might be some problems, I think particularily because of my video driver. So, I wnat to know if somebody knows a tool to test my system.

In a terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T), could you run command "top" and check if a process uses to many CPU time.
