How can I dowload ubuntu 11.04 32-bit desktop

Asked by Julianloui

I would like to download Ubuntu 11.04 for 32-bit desktop. I have installed it in a Wubi environment successfully. But when I install it as a stand-alone operating system on a computer, even the trial version does not work. All I see is shifting black rectangles all over the screen. This happens over and over no matter how manytimes I try to install it. This is why I would like to download a new copy of it. I've been running 12.04, which is far less stable than my Wubi 11.04 in terms of wireless performance; 12.04 interrupts my wireless connections too frequently and sometimes won't work for hours whereas 11.04 is solid for hours. My wireless setups are the same for both cases.

Another big headache with 12.04 is its disabling the CD tray's eject button. I've done a thorough investigation of this problem by comparing both the 11.04 and 12.04 machines. I cannot but blame 12.04 for this peculiar problem.

Your help in pointing me where to download a copy of 11.04 will be greatly appreciated. It's really great in many ways.

Have you tried Ubuntu live cd without installing it on your hardisk ?

The screen problem sounds like a driver issue , try booting the live cd with special boot options .

codemaniac,

By the trial version, I meant the Live CD. It didn't work either. Since I had only one spare pc to experiment worth, I just settled for 12.04. Sorry about the late response. Many thanks.

Alberta,

I think I'll put up with 12.04 since I can't afford the time to look for an explanation. As I said, both my 11.04 and 12.04 computers' wireless configurations are identical and use the same wireless adapter. The only difference is that the Wubi 11.04 system has
an 80GB HDD whereas the 12.04 system has a 40Gb HDD. Sorry about my late response. Many thanks.
