Which OS are you using to make the CD? Ubuntu? A different Linux distro? Windows? Mac OS?

To burn it, make sure you have a blank CD-R and a CD-R drive on your computer.

Make sure you have the ubuntu 11.04 iso image for your CPU architecture (32 bit (i386) or 64 bit (AMD64)), and then install ImgBurn.

http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download

After you have that installed, open ImgBurn and choose the image to disc option, and select the ubuntu 11.04 iso.

Wait for the computer to finish writing the image to the CD, shutting it off or losing power could cause a bad CD-R.

Next, reboot and boot off of the CD.

Oh and on the ImgBurn download page, mirrors 7 or 8 usually work well.
