tzdata update, daylight saving time abolished in Brazil

Asked by Leandro Freitas

Hello,

Daylight Saving Time has been permanently abolished in Brazil, according to the Senate bulletin of April 25, 2019

https://www.timeanddate.com/news/time/brazil-scraps-dst.html

Will we have the tzdata package upgrade to the ubuntu_14 version?

root@XXXXXXX:~# zdump -v Brazil/East | grep 2019

see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases

Ubuntu 14.04 is not supported any more, except for paid extended security maintenance https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SecurityTeam/ESM/14.04

If you do not pay for ESM, then you have to upgrade to a supported Ubuntu release to receive the updated time zone definition package.
If you already are an ESM customer and do not get that update, then you should probably create a bug report.
