Tuxguitar 1.3 is out, will 1.3 be found in 16.04?

Asked by pedra

After six years there's a new version of Tuxguitar:
http://sourceforge.net/p/tuxguitar/code/HEAD/tree/trunk/CHANGES

Will Ubuntu 16.04 LTS ship the new version?

Nothing is set in stone in Xenial. It is in the alpha stages.

If you report a bug and the security and bug fixes are significant in the newer version then it will be updated.

Debian does not have 1.3 yet - see https://packages.debian.org/search?keywords=tuxguitar&searchon=names&suite=all&section=all

The only chance I see is that Debian upgrades to the 1.3 version within the coming days, such that by Feb 18 (FeatureFreeze and DebianImportFreeze day for Ubuntu 16.04) the new version has already proven to be well working on Debian.

So I doubt that Ubuntu will have the new version in 16.04.

Creating bug reports in the Debian and Ubuntu bug trackers might stimulate the upgrade.

As a workaround you could try downloading and installing the .deb package for your architecture from http://sourceforge.net/projects/tuxguitar/files/TuxGuitar/TuxGuitar-1.3.0/

Can you help with this problem?
