How to find sites with the music tracks

Help! I asked a mac expert what the best software was to download music for free from the net, and he advised Transmission, which I've downloaded, but I don't know how to find the music tracks I'm looking for? do I do it through the software or?? a lot of the tracks I'm after are underground Hip Hop stuff, and I've got no idea how to find them or use the software to do so. Yeah, I'm a computer idiot....please explain...thankyou!

It sounds like jamendo.com is the site you'd be looking for.

clearbits.net is also goo, though it's not specifically related to music.

I don't get how to search on jamendo. Maybe they just don't have any of the music I'm looking for??
