What happens when you try?
What version do you have?
How are you opening it?
Does it happen with other users?
If you launch it from terminal what is output?

Q 1- Nothing happens

Q 3- From application menu

make another user and test, making a new user is free so being a single user sysytem is moot. You can use the user manager to make another, you can make as many users as your system needs.
