Plug-in(s) for totem

How to obtain the plug-in(s?) needed for totem ?
the programe says my pc do'nt posses them.

The default Totem install uses Gstreamer .10 as its backend, and so to play other formats you will need different plugin packs for Gstreamer. If you haven't already, you will need to enable the Universe and Multiverse repositories for apt.

Once you have those enabled, you can use Synaptic to search for "gstreamer-0.10". Install all the plugin packs (base, bad, ugly, ffmpeg).
