wanna play a dvd

inserted dvd in slot - nothing happened. I tried Applications> Sound & Vidio>Movie player.

Hi!
Thanks for your attention.
I am not sure yet if the problem was solved as my PC now does not "open" in that ,the screen says "GNU Grub version" and there is some instructions, but the mouse and keys do not work ay all. I cannot run 2 machines simultaneously to report to you the exact txt on screen, and would like to get back to get help when i can, in next few days. Thanks again.
