How do I update totem to play YOUTUBE from movie player?

Asked by Dave Strang

Running Lucid Lynx 10.04 with totem plugins 2.30.2-0ubuntu2~ppa1, movie player 2.30.2

I am trying to play YOUTUBE videos from movie player using the YOUTUBE plugins. I can get the thumbnails and the Error
message "GStreamer encountered a general supporting library error." when trying to play the videos.

I do understand YOUTUBE changed the methods the movies are handled and broke totem.

Are there any totem updates that address this issue and are they available for Lucid Lynx?

BTW, YOUTUBE works fine in Firefox.

Regards,
Dave

you could try installing the w32 codecs from medibuntu and seeing if this solves your issue: http://www.medibuntu.org/repository.php

You might need to verify that you have ubuntu-limited-extras established, if it's perhaps a codec trouble. Failing that you might want to add the Medibuntu repository and set up "non-unfastened-codecs" as you can see here https://cinemahdapkappdownload.com/

Can you help with this problem?
