Video-Player says: can not read from this resource

Asked by Christoph Schneider

May be my installation is not OK.

I put in DVD, was then asked to start a program.
I started Video-Player , it does nothing
Video-Player says: there is a mistake, can not read from this resource

even if I would find the error message somewhere, I can not derive the correcting action from it.
I do not know the error protocol, where to find it.
I do not know the interiors of Linux Ubuntu 10.04

Other DVD s also do not play.
When I had a better installation, I could see the DVD, six month ago.

Can you help with this problem?
