hello,
I am at natty 11.04 .. everything works ok but I can't play videos or vob files. these are not encrypted.. I keep
getting

I am not running unity .. just gnome at least I set this from the logon screen... Please advise

I did this while xine was in memory..
ike@mike-desktop:~$ free -m
             total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 496 306 190 0 12 122
-/+ buffers/cache: 171 324
Swap: 509 26 483

Well you have lots of space RAM and lots of free disk space. All I can suggest is you boot to live CD and fsck the partition
