i cannot play my media file using ubuntu 9.10 version, what can i do?

yea would love to help but need some base to start from.

the word media is quit far reaching, which type are you struggling with?

just to start things rolling and maybe get lucky with the obvious ( or maybe not ) have you install the ubuntu-extras package?
