If you changed of version, you lost Medibuntu packets and have to reinstall them: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Medibuntu

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Medibuntu#Installing%20Individual%20Packages provides a step by step.
If you plan to install Natty (next Ubuntu version), you simply have to wait to 28th April. It will avoid you to do twice this installation.
If you need more help, please provide Ubuntu version (10.04 LTS/10.10, 32/64bits, Desktop/Netbook).

I just recently updated to version 10.10 Maverick Meerkat and had not planned to update again. So instructions to install Medibuntu for this version would be greatly appreciated.

I have installed the package as instructed and continue to receive the following message from Movie Player: Search for suitable plugin? Required software to play this file is not installed: search? I press search and receive: no packages with requested plugins found. However libdvdcss2_1.2.10 is showing in the installed software.

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Medibuntu#Adding%20the%20Repository
Could you copy/paste command to add repository, and the following "sudo apt-get" command.

Have copied and pasted both the command add to the repository and the sudo apt-get and ran in Terminal. The end results are the same; put dvd in, Movie Player shows message: Search for suitable plugin? Press search; message states searching for plugins; new message: No packages with requested plugins found, the requested plugins are dvd source; press ok: new message: An error occured, Location not found.

OK, I propose you to use another software, more easy to install.
Could you run command:
   sudo apt-get install vlc
Then on DVD icon, do a right click and choose software VLC.

The VLC software has been loaded and performs well; I can now play DVD's again. Thank you for your time and efforts.
