dvd inserted-message says unable to run software not installed

trying to watch movie but error message keeps coming up saying software not installed to support application. Also, downloaded movie and it still will not play...error message keeps coming up

Try:

sudo wget --output-document=/etc/apt/sources.list.d/medibuntu.list http://www.medibuntu.org/sources.list.d/$(lsb_release -cs).list && sudo apt-get --quiet update && sudo apt-get --yes --quiet --allow-unauthenticated install medibuntu-keyring && sudo apt-get --quiet update; sudo apt-get -y install libdvdread4; sudo /usr/share/doc/libdvdread4/install-css.sh; sudo apt-get -y upgrade

press CTL+ALT+T to open a terminal window. in the window, type

sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras

enter your password when asked. it will not show on the screen.
