Audio output level too low from totem as oposed to xmms

Asked by Rune Klarskov Jensen

Hi out there
And thank you for Ubuntu, Debian and Gnu/Linux

The problem is that the output level from totem is too low, and it is the same when using Rythm box and VLC.

But when I use XMMS in Ubuntu the output is as high as it should be.

When I use VLC in Microsofts XP (dual boot) on the same pc, a Dell Latitude|110L, then the sound level is ok.

The quick test that I use is connnecting the output to a set of external speakers which include their own amp.

I get the idea that it most be the set up of ubuntu with totem player and rythm box from ubuntus gui installer.

I installed xmms with apt-get install xmms.

Best regards
